Virtual Pet Site Game Alpha

"Virtual Pet Site Game" is a game about raising smelly virtual pets but you don't quite know what they need to survive.

Or it would be about that, but the game is in alpha and none of those features exist. Expect bugs, expect crashes, but try to have fun.

Prototypes

Here's all of the prototypes that were developed as part of making the final game. Some prototypes are mixed and matched into the full game, others are scrapped entirely. They are not gauranteed to work or to be developed any further.

Identical Tentacles Game (Prototype)

This prototype explores exploring a level with the action queue system. It originally was going to be the foundation of the final game, but it got demoted to a prototype.

Action Queue Prototype

This prototype explores using an action queue and turn system, and guides the player through the game mechanics.

Field Book Game (Prototype)

This prototype explores game mechanics related to taking care of a pet and recording what you learn about it in your field book.

Conservation Pet Game (Prototype)

This prototype explores how you move around a level.

Advanced Virtual Pet Game (Prototype)

Take care of the pets and then tame them. They'll follow you around!

Walking Sim Game (Prototype)

Pop juicy zits in this prototype. Why's it called "Walking Sim"? We don't remember!

Virtual Pet Idle 2 (Prototype)

This early prototype experimented with using dice to perform actions in a queue. Indie dice games are popular, what can we say? Select the dice from the middle of the screen and they'll slot into the top of the screen if they meed their requirements. Otherwise we forget how this game works.
